Big win last night!

The Nights Owls got the win last night with a score of 3-2. That takes our record to 3-1-1! Despite us having a full bench, and our opponents having a short bench with 2 subs, it was a closely fought game. Hats off to the Zambonis. Despite having the short bench, they played hard all the way to the end.

I gave up the first goal midway thru the 2nd period. I made the save on a shot thru traffic, but I had no ideal where the rebound went. I actually think it was under me, but it wasn’t blown dead. My guys said they didnt see it, but the opponents did and got an easy score (there is some debate about how well this game was called. One of the refs was heard to make a comment to the effect ” you guys have a full bench, and you are winning”)

They only had one serious scoring threat, and I played him very well. Actually, I thought I had his number. With less than 2 minutes to go, he came in on a breakway. I though I knew what he as going to do, so I went down, he deked me, and took it top shelf. That made the score 3-2. But we controlled the puck the last 1:30, to preserve the win.

I was pleased with the way I played, especially considering that I had hardly seen action in two weeks. (I did get to drop in on Saturday and played for 30 minutes but we had 4 goalies, which sucks.) I did make some key saves that kept us in it.
