Not a well known fact, but I am a strong supporter of Bill Richardson for President. I’ve had the utmost respect for him since I was a resident of NM in the late 80’s and early 90’s. A man of intergrity and principal. He has outstanding experience in foreign affairs. While he may be down in the polls, its still early, and he has moved up in the polls in Iowa and New Hampshire and has been much more affgressive against his rivals.
It was good the hear that he will not abandon his run for the White House, even after Sen. Pete Domenici announced his retirement. And that it good, for NM, and the nation. Ohio is a swing state, and always will be. But the western states are becoming even more important. Domenci needed to go. Although I am sorry it had to be due to health reason. I wish him, and his wife, the best. He has served Albuquerque, and NM well for many years
The Washington Post is reporting that the most likely candidates to replace Domenici on the Republican side are Reps. Heather Wilson and Steve Pearce. Several Democrats are mentioned including Rep. Tom Udall, Albuquerque Mayor Martin Chavez, Lt. Gov. Diane Denish and former state Attorney General Patricia Madrid. The Democrats are all great choices, espically Udall and Chavez
I invite everone to see what Gov. Rircharson has done for the great state on New Mexico.
