It was another loss, 7-4.
At least I had more D. And at least our ringers were there to find the back of the net.
It was by far not my worst game, and definitely was not best game. I was really off early in the first period. We took a quick 1-0 lead, and ended the period training 3-1. I left in two softies early, then I got my head into the game.
I was really solid in the 2nd. I took more shots this period, in fact, most of the game was played right in front of me. With the exception of our ringers taking it coast to coast to get his hat trick. I did let in one goal. Once again, where was my D. Otherwise, I was clearing the rebounds and clearing my crease. We were tied 4-4 at the end of the second.
Things started getting chippy in the third. And our scoring potential was gone since our best already had his hat trick. Once again I saw a fair number of shots. The tough one for me to give up ion this period was on a wraparound . I hate those. Otherwise, my D left my cold.
I can blame this loss on myself just as much as I can my lack of D.
Next week, we play The Rox, who one their first game last night. Once again, the talk is “we can win that game”. I hear it every week “we should have won the game last week”. They must be seeing something that I’m not.
To blow my own horn… if I had some D, this season could have been a lot different.
