I love the holidays, but I am always relieved when they are all over with. As far as I am concerned, things are back to normal. I go into work tomorrow, and have no plans for New Years with the possible exception of taking in a Blue Jackets game tomorrow night (against Edmonton).
We went to Dayton Monday night, and got back at 1AM. Then up at 8AM to go to West Virgina. Back home at 11PM. I was looking forward to going to work on Wednesday!
On the up side, I’ve had a good week. No major Crohn’s flareup, and I’ve been eating very well. In fact, I think I have actually lost weight. My worst day this past week was on Monday when I was trying to shop for David. I was getting all stressed out, and came home feeling sick. And still didnt find what I wanted.
I’ve been trying to get in as much ice time as possible. I’ve made a good number of drop ins, and feel good about the way I have played. The bad thing about this time of the year is that the drop in usually get a large number of hot shot high school kids. Some of their attitudes, to be honest, makes me concerned for my safety, and feel its not worth getting injured. There is also the issue on number of goalies. Most drop ins have 4 goalies, which isnt that good, except that it’s ice time. 10 minutes on the ice, followed by 10 minutes off the ice, really makes it hard to get in the groove.
But, there is never a shortage of quality shooters. And that will really help me as I move up from D South to D West! And as I said earlier, I feel very good about the way I have played.
