I started getting a cold overnight on Monday, and it hit me hard during the day yesterday. I should have stayed home..which is what I’m doing today.
It’s been a long time since I’ve come down with a cold, and I will credit my daily doses of antioxidants.
A few months ago, in the clearance bin at Gieant Eagle, I ran across a bottle of Buckley’s Cough Syrup. Still in date and at a great price. I figured what the heck, if I need it, I’ll have it. I also heard it worked really well and that the taste was disgusting. It contains camphor, menthol, Canada balsam, pine needle oil, and a tincture of capsicum
If you’ve heard the same….BELIEVE IT! Yes it works, but I was in no way prepared for the taste. It is without doubt the most vile, disgusting concoction I’ve ever tasted. A salty-sweet mixture that make me think sweaty jocks had been simmered in Vicks Vapor Rub. Since I possibly have a G rated audience I won’t say what it look like.
But..as I said, it works great and kept my cough under control all night. I’m building up the courage to take another dose.
Hopefully, I will be back to normal for the race this weekend
