Sunday, the remnants of Ike interacted with an approaching cold front creating wind gusts of over 75 mph, and putting over 300,000 in the dark. Our power was restored after 36 hours, but as of 2:30AM, it is estimated there are still 250,000 in Franklin County in the dark
It was a weather I had not seen since dealing with the remnants of Hurricane Alicia in 1983. Who would have thunk that a storm so similar to Alice would be felt in Ohio.
Needless to say, we are fortunate. I really haven’t had a chance to stay upt o date on the damage in Texas, but the reports I just saw on CBS News is depressing. And it sounds as if FEMA is still screwed up. Thankfully, the storm was not as bad as predicted, as far as the surge in concerned. My thoughts and prayers go to all those who have been impacted.
